Child Safeguarding Policy

At DCI, our work with children is grounded in the UN Convention on the rights of the child. In line with the UN Convention on the rights of the child, every human being below the age of 18 is considered a child. Every child is recognized, respected and protected as a rights holder, with nonnegotiable rights to protection. Children must be involved in decisions that concern them, including the development, monitoring and evaluation of child protection strategies, policies, programs and services.

Dignity

The biggest advantage is that human being learn new ways of being effective every day to make better leaders, better teams, better processes and learning in itself is engaging and exciting to many of us. We need to teach everyone that children are to be treated with dignity and as a unique and valuable human being with an individual personality, distinct needs, interests and privacy, with due regard to the child's right to participation. We also understand the need to empower children to protect themselves and their peers and to claim their rights.

Capacity building

We train police officers, judges, and other professionals to ensure the rights of children are respected and promoted. We also raise awareness in local communities and we support the establishment of community-based child protection system.
